Despite being a leader in educating, training, and licensing a behavioral health workforce that is more robust than many states, Massachusetts is experiencing a shortage of qualified behavioral health providers. State efforts over the last few years provide a good start to addressing this challenge, but much more is needed. With critical funding support, MAMH and its research partner, NRI, Inc., developed a behavioral health workforce inventory to identify policies, programs, and other initiatives currently in place to help build and sustain a more robust, diverse workforce. Read a message from MAMH President and CEO Danna Mauch here. |

MAMH extends a warm welcome to Maura Healey as Governor of Massachusetts, Andrea Campbell as Massachusetts Attorney General, and other newly elected legislators and appointees. Both Governor Healey and Attorney General Campbell have long fought to protect and advance the rights of vulnerable and marginalized people on an array of issues such as parity, access to safe, affordable housing, and ensuring affordable and equitable health and behavioral health care. We look forward to productive partnerships as, together, we continue to tackle the behavioral health challenges and barriers to care facing individuals and families across the Commonwealth. |
